Portable flow measurement of Compressed Air and BTU's

Compressed Air has many advantages in modern production processes and it's nearly unimaginably to think working without.

Nevertheless, it is one of the most costly forms of energy as more than 90% of the energy used to created pressurized air is foregiven as heat, mechanical and other losses. Furthermore, as it is invisible to the eye and often distributed over long piping infrastructures, leakages are unfortunately common, thus increasing costs even more.

Strategies to reduce the amount required and making aware about leakages exist, but real technical measures are only slowly implemented - this also because proper measuring devices were lacking until now.

The FLUXUS G601 CA Energy is based on the very successful G601 portable gas flow meter and transfers all the exceptional characteristics known from it  into a new category.

The FLUXUS G601 CA Energy is the ideal tool for the operator to survey whole pressurized air infrastructures, balancing the facilities, measuring on nearly every individual leg, determining the efficiency of compressors and last, not least, quantify and localize leakages.

It measures at pipes with an inner diameter of DN50 to DN 300 and from 5 bar inner pressure upwards (for plastic pipes measurements can be undertaken at atmospheric pressure and below) by applying FLEXIM's proven transit-time correlation technique. Special ultrasonic Lamb and shear wave transducers are simply clamped onto the outside of the pipe, thus no cutting into the pipe or process interruption is required for installation - especially a benefit for facilities where pipes can't be depressurizes easily. It also means, that the flow meter can never be a potential source for leakages itself - a problem that conventional flow meters technologies are often facing!

Moreover, as the G601 CA Energy flow meter is highly mobile and flexible, it can be used nearly anywhere  - punctual measurements at the same spot every time are thus a thing of the past.

The FLUXUS G601 CA Energy not only offers the flow measurement of pressurized air, but also the monitoring of adjacent applications that are common in Facility Management, such as the quantification of energy balances at heating or cooling plants and looking for lost BTU's.

Its accuracy and reliability, which derives from the F/G601 Energy, is unrivaled - not only because of the carefully matched and paired 4-Wire PT100/1000 temperature probes or the enthalpy curves that are programmed into the transmitter.

Its internal Li-Ion battery allows for up to 14 hours of autonomous measurement. Algorithms such as the correction of pipe wall echoes and transducer positioning errors ensure reliable and accurate measurement even in the most demanding application conditions.
